The Event
Recognizing that colorectal cancer is preventable, treatable and beatable, the Big Blue Quest is a public celebration organized by survivors and health-care providers from western Pennsylvania. The event combines the fun of healthy exercise (2K and 5K run/walk) with educational displays and presentations.

The Beneficiary
The Center for Colon and Rectal Surgery at Allegheny General provides advanced diagnostic testing and the latest minimally invasive surgical techniques to manage benign and malignant
diseases of the colon and rectum. The treatment team is focused on its goal of providing optimal care that restores function, allows a quick return to normal activities and has the highest possible cure rate.
Proceeds from the Big Blue Quest will go toward

The Staff
The Center for Colon and Rectal Surgery at Allegheny General Hospital is directed by David S. Medich, M.D., and includes James P. Celebrezze, M.D., and Sandra J. Beck, M.D.;
a certified enterostomal therapy nurse, a nurse practitioner and a registered nurse with expertise in colon and rectal patient care.
AGH’s colon and rectal surgeons participate in a variety of research activities linked to the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP), whose Operations Center is based on Allegheny General’s campus.
